Mackenzie Hoffman

My name is Mackenzie Hoffman, and I am 17 years old. I have been riding for as long as I can remember, and eventing since I was 7 years old.

My current horse Creative Crossing “CC” is a 2014 OTTB, who I bought off the track in the fall of 2020. This past season we moved up to the EV105 level (modified) and had many super confident and consistent competitions, and we won the EV105 division for the year. We were also lucky enough to be named to the Alberta young riders team for the second year in a row at the CCI 1*L level, this year in California. Although young riders did not go as planned, it was very exciting for our team to come home with bronze medals and another experience of a life time. Having the opportunity to be on a team and represent your province at the international level is truly amazing even if the competition does not turn out the way you hoped. In the 2024 season I hope to move up to the EV110 level and head down south in the fall to compete.

This is my fifth year on the High Performance Development Team. I have always loved being a part of the team for the many opportunities from the clinics, coaches, and team events. I am so thankful that being apart of this team gave me the incredible opportunity to compete at NAYC twice now! I am super excited to continue to grow my knowledge and myself as a rider. I hope to one day be able to reach the top level of eventing and be a part of Team Canada.
