Aviva Freedman

Hi there!

I’m Aviva and I’m 17 years old. I live in Calgary and board out of Fox Ridge Farms with my coach, Paige Dinnie and DPC Sport Horses. Currently, I attend Bishop Carroll High School and will graduate in 2024. I started riding fairly late, in 2019, and attended my first competition in the spring of 2020. That said, I couldn’t get enough of this sport and since then I’ve dedicated myself to it.

I own Leighway, a 13 year old chestnut OTTB who came off the track 6 years ago. He’s quite literally perfect and the most awesome horse to learn the bigger fences with. He always gives his best effort and loves his job.

Most of my competition experience is on my previous horse, Levi/Monte Carlo. We evented to pre-training level and competed in both the USA and Canada. Leighway and I have also competed at pre-training level together as well as dabbled in the show jumping world by competing in 1.0m’s.

Our future plans currently consist of a trip south to Arizona and California in spring 2023. We’ll compete in a few events down there to shake off the winter rust and come back to Alberta in top condition for our season.
