Support Our Olympic Athletes through the “Pathway To Paris” Silent Auction!
The “Pathway to Paris” auction supports the Canadian High-Performance program. These efforts really focus on the road to the Olympics in Paris, which started with the 2022 World Equestrian Championships in Pratoni. Our focus is now on the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile; the Nations Cups in Bromont, Quebec and Arville, Belgium; plus, the necessary training opportunities for our High-Performance Athletes from now until 2024. The Canadian Eventing High Performance Committee is planning to send a team of 4 horse and rider combinations to secure a top 2 podium finish at the Pan American Games. This podium performance will guarantee a Team placement for the 2024 Olympic Team…

Alberta Young Riders Compete At USEF Eventing Young Rider Championships!
We had 6 Young Riders head south to compete at the USEF Eventing Young Rider Championships at Tryon International 3 Day Event, Nov 9-13, 2022 in Mill Spring, North Carolina. They had a week long training camp with Team Coach Kyle Carter at Five Ring Stables in Citra, FL before heading to Tryon for the competition. Mother Nature threw a variety of weather at the competitor’s over the course of the competition. From hot, sun, to torrential downpours thanks to Hurricane, the riders had a lot more to contend with than just the competition. They had a wonderful experience and we are so proud of them! The warm sun shone down most of the weekend of April 23 and 24th for the Cross Country Course Design Clinic with Dylan Barry. 23 people from all over Alberta and Saskatchewan from a variety of backgrounds attended, there were riders of all levels, coaches, facility owners, event organizers, and prospective course designers and officials. We were excited to have Cross Country Jump/Course Builder and EC Certified Cross Country Course Designer Dylan Barry joining us for the weekend. 2019 NAYC Qualifications Changed!
The North American Youth Championships 2019 (formerly NAJYRC) will be held at Rebecca Farms, Kalispell, MT July 24-28, 2019. There has been some changes made to the competition, as far as eligibility is concerned. As neither Canada or Mexico have been able to field a team, the last few years, the competition is no longer an FEI Championship. It is more like a Nations Cup. Riders still need to meet National Eligibility Requirements and must be nominated via their Province. The Junior competition will be a CCI2L (Old CCI 1*). So, we would expect a horse/rider combination be considered competent/safe to compete at this level. There were not any changes made…

Horses can sweat twice as much, can loose twice the amount of body water before fatigue, and have twice the metabolic capacity for work. -the increased sweating is enabled by the large reservoir of fluid and electrolytes in the gastrointestinal tract.
