Rebecca Farm Team Alberta

Our 2018 Rebecca Farm Team Alberta Riders had a successful event at Rebecca Farm! Thank you again to all our amazing sponsors!

2018 TEAM COMPETITION AT REBECCA FARM

The AHTA High Performance Program is again offering riders a chance to be part of a “true” team experience at The Event at Rebecca Farm July 18-22, 2018 in Kalispell, MT.  This is open to anyone (junior, senior, adult amateur) and presents a unique opportunity to represent both the Albertan and Canadian Eventing communities on an International stage.

The team scenario will be set up to give riders the opportunity to go through the motions of a team competition experience, including qualifying for the team and working with your team mates.  Each team member will be expected to stable with their team and be present for scheduled activities such as Educational Sessions and Course Walks. It would be highly recommended that Team members plan on arriving at Rebecca Farms on Sunday,  July 15 so that we have time to implement the Educational sessions.

Sponsors for the 2018 Team Competition are:

Blackjak Refinery

Alberta Equestrian Federation

Devoucoux

Prime Time Leather Care

Equus Soap Co.

Vetoquinol / Equistro Canada

Equestrian Fashion Outfitters

Horze

Arenus

And more!!

Congratulations to all the riders selected to represent Rebecca Farm Team Alberta 2018!

Team riders will receive coaching, at a reduced rate, from HP Coach Leahona Rowland (if they wish) and Alberta Team Swag.  If you do not wish to use Leahona as your coach – you may use your existing coach (at your own expense).

The number and levels for the Teams will depend on applications received.  However, we should be able to field a team for Novice (PreTraining), Training, and Prelim.  CCI 1*, 2* and/or Intermediate will also be considered if there are enough applications received for any of these levels.

A Team will consist of 4 riders at the lower level and 3 or 4 at the  1*, 2* or Intermediate level.

Final Team Selectors will include:  2 members of the AHTA Board and a senior High Performance rider who is not a coach for any of the applicants.  Teams will be announced by July 3, 2018.

Team Spotters:  that is a secret!

Qualifying

Riders will qualify based on their show results from 2017 and early 2018 and “spotter” observations.

We have some secret Team spotters that will be present at the AHTA Clinics and at Alberta Competitions.

Each Team will include 1 High Performance rider (if there is one available) and the remaining team positions will be filled based on Show Results and Spotter Observations.

If you competed at a lower level in 2017 and are wanting to move up in 2018, and be considered for the higher level Team – you need to fill out the Application Form with all of your 2017 Results (even though they were at a lower level) and your 2018 Results.  If you changed horses – this would also apply. Send your 2017/former horse results and the 2018 and new horse results.

NOMINATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED! TEAMS WILL BE ANNOUNCED BY JULY 3RD!

The Application will be a 2 step process.

First, complete a Nomination Form

Deadline for this is June 1/18 (however, the sooner the better!)   Once a Nomination Form has been received, an Application Form will be sent to the applicant.

Second, complete an Application Form which will include all of your show results from 2017 and 2018. Deadline for submission is June 27, 2018, after the Cochrane Event.  The form must be completed fully or it will not be considered.

Please note:   We also compare the Application forms to the Rebecca Farms entries.  Ensure you are applying for a Team that is the same as the division you have entered at RF.  For example, do not apply to ride on a Novice/PreTraining Team and then enter Training at the competition.

Teams will be announced by July 3, 2018 via email and Social Media

**Enter Rebecca Farms as you normally would, including where you would like to stable if you were not on an AHTA Team.  We will contact Rebecca Farms and ensure a block of stalls will be set aside for our Teams and will be in touch with them when our teams are finalized.
